Small Business Websites: Starter version

People are looking for solutions to problems. A common mistake made when marketing a small business, or any business for that matter, is to make it about you. It's not about you, it's about the customer and helping them solve their problem. Don't start with you and your stuff. That comes later, below. Start with the kind of problems you solve so your prospective customers know they've come to the right place for help.

What do you do, who are you?

Use this page to tell visitors to your site more about who you are and what your business does. A number of businesses use this page to also explain more about why they do what they do; when did they start and even some of the highlights or big wins they have accomplished.

You can also include a memorable saying or highlight a special offer much like this:

We might all be successful if we followed the advice we give the other person.

Was it something I said?

You can have beautifully formatted numbered lists, describing your accomplishments:

  1. Few black taxis drive up major roads on quiet hazy nights.
  2. Cute, kind, jovial, foxy physique, amazing beauty? Wowser!
  3. By Jove, my quick study of lexicography won a prize.
  4. If you are observant, you’ll notice these sentences contain all the letters of the English alphabet. These clever sentences are known as pangrams. The most commonly used pangram is the sentence: The quick brown fox jumped over a lazy dog.

Notice how the longer sentence wraps nicely onto the next line.

There's another way too

If numbers aren’t your thing, how about using bullets to list things. Yes, more pangrams. Aren’t they fun!
